In MathCAD 14, I am having trouble making a 3D scatter plot when the matrix-function contains an element that is a natural log function. The same matrix-function plots OK If I substitute and different function for the natural log function. I have included an example file; why does the p.2xyz function plot OK and p.1xyz not plot at all?

Mathcad Prime 2.0 help doesn't work
Hi. I think that your clear mind help me:). My system is Windows 8.1. One time I have noticed that help for MathCAD Prime 2.0 doesn't work. Program just gave me message (see bellow). How to fix it? Reinstallation doesn't help.

Mathcad Prime 3.0. Reversing axis on diagram

I can't find an option for reversing axsis (from minus to plus) in diagramms. Like a mirror image respect to x-axis. Is it even possible?

Will VB Macros Work in Excel Component?
Hi All,
I make frequent use of steam table calling functions in my Excel spreadsheets, and I would like to use this capability within Mathcad Prime 3.0. However, so far I have been unable to figure out how to bring a sheet with it's steam table calls into an Excel component in Mathcad Prime 3.0.
I think the functions are inside of a couple of .bas files, and I have tried to save those in the Excel component, but this seems to cause trouble with Mathcad.
I will attach a small sample Excel file showing how the calls work.
If anyone can advise how to make this work I would very much appreciate it.

P.S. The steam calls in this sheet are the work of Magnus Holmgren (formerly of www.x-eng.com) However, he seems to have dropped out of site. I was unable to find him when I last tried some months ago. Anybody know what happened to him?

Installation stuck at 75%
Hey guys,
Do you know what could be wrong when installation is stuck at 75%? It is a brand new laptop (lenovo T540p)
I have installed all needed components (C++,.Net framework, MSXML and so) but the installation stops at 75% and nothing happens.

Mathcad Prime 2.0/3.0 default page size
Hi all, I was wondering if there is way to change the default page size from letter to A4 in Prime 2 / 3 without using templates? Is there a config file somewhere?

Messy Solve Block in Prime 3.0
The solve block in Prime 3.0 contains section in which to enter equations, parameters, etc. That's OK, but I'm trying to put solve blocks into a document (a book manuscript) and I need to be compact. As it is, it takes half a page to display all this stuff and tryinig to compress it makes it unreadable. In MCAD 15, solve blocks could be very compact while still being easy to read.
Is there some way around this problem?

In the attached Prime worksheet is it possible to create a function that can search the second row of the matrix for the a number closest but higher than ZxREQ while also making sure that it's corresponding value in the first row is between dmax and din? The issue I'm having is how do you search in a particular row in a matrix?

Programming in MathCAD Prime 3
Good Afternoon Community,
If anybody can tell me why I'm not getting an output to the attached file. My goal is to calculate the lateral stiffness of a pile group called alpha_sub_uF, but when I substitute the pile spacing S_p and xi in the procedure, I did not get any output. I have cut and paste the equation I'm trying to program at the bottom of the worksheet. Please help.

Unit issue in solve block
Hi,
I have tried to solve equations of current ramping up and down in a power converter, including the series (parasitic) resistances in the circuit. Solve block works fine and finds sensible results, except ... one of the 2 parameters I am searching (aa) is a duty cycle, and therefore, should be unitless, and it comes out of the solve block with a unit (Amps, like the other variable). I just can't find what I've got wrong, since all the equations I input will only work if the variable is unitless, so why on earth would the solve block add a unit that doesn't work ? Unless I missed something ...

Should my Students Use Prime 3.0 or MCAD 15?
I teach university classes that require lots of calculations. I make sure to introduce the students to Mathcad, but I get lots of questions about Mathcad 15 vs. Mathcad Prime 3.0. The university computer system doesn't have Prime 3.0, so our default is MCAD 15. I tell them that either program will work and they can use whichever one they like. They almost never choose Prime 3.0, though that might be because they see MCAD 15 in class. Two students this semester out of 85 have gone for Prime 3.0.
I've had to explain to them that they need to buy Prime 3.0 in order to downgrade to MCAD 15. I use the analogy that it's kind of like having to buy Windows 8 in order to downgrade to Windows 7. It's not a great way to start the conversation about why using Mathcad is a good thing.
Here's my choice: I can try to introduce them to Prime 3.0 on the assumption that it's what will be available in the future or I can stick with MCAD 15 because it's by far the most popular of the two right now.
My question: Do you in the user community recommend that I stick with MCAD 15 until Prime catches up? And how long with that take? Or, should I just rip the band-aid off and deal with Prime 3.0 on the assumption that it will get better? Which one do you think better serves my studetns?

Solving an integral equation (with MathCAD)
Hi everyone,
I would like to know if there is a way in MathCAD to solve such an equation:
Where (unfortunately 
) Sa(w,x) is known and G(w) is unknown. All other parameters can be considered known.
The equation comes from a book about Eartquake Engineeering, and gives a possible relationship between Response Spectrum and Power Spectrum, together with Fourier Spectrum (less common) they are the type of spectra commonly used in earthquake engineering.
So the unknown function G (in my problem the power spectrum) would appear at the same time under integral and outside of it. Schematically it would be something like:
with F(w) known (but not a simple analytical function, it would have to be a splined interpolation, see small example on the left in the first picture above) and X(w) unknown.
If, as I believe, there is no MathCAD way, I would be grateful for some hints to known numerical methods to solve the problem... my calculus lessons are a little dated

Current MCAD15 users don't seem that enthused about Prime. Is PTC writing off some current users in the hopes of attracting a newer group with different skills?

Anyone knows if Mathcad 15 M040 (which will work on Win 8.1) will use newer versions of:
- VC++ (2013 instead of 2008)
- .NET (4.5 instead of 3.5)
- MSXML (6.0 instead of 4.0)
