Natural circulation problem

Hello, Community.

I have a question connected with hydrodynamics and natural circulation.

As you know, in such systems water changes its state to steam and moving upwards the pipe without pumps.

You can see the photo of the system in my post.

The problem is in water tank(water is in normal condition) which is located higher.

There is a system of 140 tubes inside; it is not so easy to find an equation which will show where the steam(temperature is about 202 degrees,16 bars) becomes water during the process of condensation(i.e temperature distributions in pipes). Pipe pattern is not so important.

In addition, defining the preferences of water in downward pipe is complicated either.

If you have an experience with such problems (maybe even templates), I will appreciate your help.

Mathcad Object support in Mathcad Prime 3.1

I have recently upgraded to Mathcad Prime 3.1 and I have noticed that it is impossible to insert Mathcad Objects into Microsoft Word (2013).
This feature worked fine in Mathcad 15.0. Why is it gone now? Maybe I am doing something wrong.

Mathcad Prime WYSIWYG printing bug - everything shifted left

When I print from Prime 3.0 or 3.1 some of my pages or areas are shifted to the left about 1/2" and the first characters are cut off.  Occasionally an area will also get shifted up a tad.  Often I'll get something like (for example) page 1 is fine, the continuation of the area onto page 2 is shifted left, while the next area on page 2 is fine.  Or sometimes areas 1,2, and 4 are fine but area 3 is shifted left.   I can't seem to eliminate this problems.  It happens whether I print to a printer, pdf or xps.  Is there a way around this? Example of how to use LeastSquaresFit()

I was wondering if someone could please give me an example of what each input in the LeastSquaresFit() function in MATHCAD Prime 3.0 looks like.  I have been struggling particularly with the syntax of the function to fit data to.

I am not a power user but occasionally need to plot simple vector functions such as, say, response of a system over a range variable like temperature or resistance.

Can this be done with the "free for life" version that I thought I was downloading?

Mathcad Prime 4.0: some new updates

At the last event "PTC LiveWorx Europe 2015" in November of 2015 it was presented a roadmap for the development of Mathcad Prime 4.0 and some future steps (themes) for Prime direction. Let's see what updates are planned for version 4.0 (now the release of version 4.0 is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2016 year) and is scheduled for subsequent releases after 4.0. PDF "PTC Mathcad Roadmap_2015" can be found in attachment.

Symbolic partial derivative operator in Mathcad Prime 3 - where is it?

Assuming I have a simple function such that f(x,y)=x^2+x*y+y is it possible with Mathcad Prime 3 to find the symbolic partial derivative of the function f'x(x,y)? For some reason I cannot find how to do this. f' seems to only give a normal first derivative. Is there some tricky keystroke to enable partial derivative notation in MC Prime 3? I find it hard to believe that PTC would have overlooked that functionality?

Mathcad Prime 3.1 Doesn't Start Up Anymore

Just yesterday, my Mathcad Prime 3.1 (free version) started acting up.  When I double click the icon or run from the start menu (Windows 8.1 shell mode) I see the "splash" logo for Prime but then it disappears and a main window never shows up. Also, nothing shows up in the taskbar. 

 

If I go to the Task Manager, I see the program, even multipe copies if I keep double clicking the icon but no window and no icon in the taskbar.

 

Has anyone seen this before?

Solve command | equation single variable

Check attached files.

My attempt is to solve for x at a certain p value. Can anyone explain why the solve command and solve block fails?

 

  1. According to Brent Maxfield's monograph “Essential PTC Mathcad Prime 3.0 (2014)” ch.10 pg. 312, the 3.0 version has a bug with modifiers which could implement constraints. Has this been fixed in 3.1? I want to eliminate complex roots and filter real roots.. Will assume command be any use in 3.1 as it make no difference in 3.0 version?
  2. Does the solver fail because of the expression in the equation “’x’ to the power ‘i’” where x has multiple roots and “i” is also running from 1-14, 1-17? However, in reality “i” is affiliated in sigma and when expanded it cannot be considered as a range.. Can this be sorted if I re-arrange it in vector form? Like using a vector and a poly-root command?
  3. Check attached file “Patek & Klomfar..”. If you look at the last 2 equations which I’ve disabled if not it will take nearly 5 hours to solve each. (Should be done one at a time) The value of x should be between 0 to 1. The results were a bit goofy like it gives me “MuPAD not responding” and the values change each time I get a proper answer. Is there an alternative method to solve this? What I have in mind is to expand all sigmas.. if that helps.
  4. Check attached file “test”. “i” runs from 1 to 5 thus making a polynomial max of 25 and also of a non-integer 1.25 (5/4). Mathcad took a while to get the solution but I’m only interested in  real roots. Is there a way to filter the real root and save time?
  5. Check attached screenshot. Is it normal to have a large thick title bar when solving?

Prime 3.0 Started Printing Blank Pages

My installation of Mathcad Prime 3.0 on Windows 7 just started printing blank pages whenever I try to print a document.  I printed several documents just a month or so ago with no problem.  It doesn't matter what printer I use or if I print to PDF; I get the same result.  I'm wondering if there was some update to Windows 7 that clobbered Prime's ability to print.  Mathcad 15.0 M045 is printing just fine.  I even re-installed Prime 3.0 and it didn't fix the problem.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks!

What is the reason for this error in the answer?

Basically the answer should be a perfect zero (according to theory and also verified through hand calculation), so why this software is giving such high error.

Please tell me if I am doing something wrong as soon as possible.

Prime 4.0 Release Date?

Does anyone have info on the expected release date for Prime 4.0?  The latest schedule I saw said Prime 4.0 would be released Q2, 2016.  I'm guessing that's slipped, but wasn't sure how much.
